Office and Other Products

Are you an Excel aficionado?  While it is not the most convenient for programmed solutions, we have had customers that are so enamored with Excel that they requested that if there was an automated solution, that it be done in Excel.  In the infinite wisdom of Microsoft, the majority of their products have the ability to develop code using a common based, known as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).  Thus, we have developed solutions where the interface, the processing and the results are all handled in Excel.

What about Microsoft Project or Microsoft PowerPoint or even Microsoft Word?  The same thing applies.  An entire PowerPoint presentation can be generated under the control of code.  The same applies to Project or Word.   In fact, the most powerful solution often is a combination of products and is addressed in the next section.  The point of this is to understand that if an automated solution is called for, the tools that are available today allow us to satisfy just about any requirement that you may have.  The interface can be in any number of methodologies and most important, the processing portion can allow us the use the appropriate product that has the necessary capabilities built into it.

The next would be intra-program communications.  This used to be known as OLE.  In this situation, a "conversation" is established between the executing program and another application.  In this case, we ........
